In the old days, carrion birds would circle around carcass before eating. Now a days we have helicopters circling around accidents.

Cell phones are a great invention, we know have the ability to communicate at any time with anybody from anywhere (with the right cell phone). The problem is that we now do not have to work our way through a situation, we can just call, text, or radio an expert on the subject and continue on.

Any construction worker will tell you, out in the field, you had to decide for yourself how to resolve those little issues that crop up, now the answer is a phone call away.

One of the things I have noticed is

that when I see people working, they have a cell phone stuck to their ear.

What is worst is now pre=teens to great grand parents are spending the social time that they have in digital communication instead of face to face.

OK, I was reading Scoble about what happened during an interview, and it occurs to me, we now depend on digital media to converse and interact. Granted this has a lot of positive aspects and benefits. But when a bunch of people are twittering to the interviewer on how he/she is doing then what’s the point? I mean an interview is supposed to extract information from a subject.

I digress, Social media is like a video game vs going for a walk. We can all talk to each other with phones and stuff or we can talk face to face.

I like the idea of expressing ideas in a mass media way (blogging anybody?) but to use this as a primary heckler mechanism, come on!!!

I just noticed with my last post that it has been 2 months since my last post, I have been traveling alot for work and have not spent the time on writing. I have been keeping up with my reading in Google reader and have followed the events in CES and Macworld.

In my travels  I have gone to Mexico city three times now.

In all three trips I have come home with a respiratory problem. I have just come back from Mexico City last Friday with bronchitis and the Asian flu. life is grand. I hope all of you sport fans out there are happy with the up coming super bowl, as i think the giants are going to get hurt real bad. (I am a Chiefs fan).

I have just updated my HP notebook to Vista ultimate 64 and so far, I like it. I am going to cough up the money for 4GB of memory so I can get this puppy to scream.

I am flying again, this time while getting over a chest cold. What Fun!! I decided to try out Midwest airlines this time and was impr4essed with the seating, nice wide seat for my wide butt. The plane was 1/2 full so I got a row to myself.

Currently I am sitting in Milwaukee waiting for my connecting flight.
